AeroBarrier application is not appropriate for occupied residences/buildings. It's only applied in new construction or gut-remodels before finishes are installed.
No. Technicians entering the space during sealing wear personal protective equipment (PPE). The area is safe without protective gear 20-30 minutes after sealing is complete.
AeroBarrier sealant is a waterborne acrylic used as a permeable air barrier for years. It's GREENGUARD Gold certified and tested for fire spread, smoke production, adhesion, antifungal properties, etc. It’s low VOC and has no off-gassing.
The entire AeroBarrier process generally takes around 4 hours for a typical single-family home. Additional time may be required for more stringent envelope leakage levels like Passive House or ZERH.
Cost depends on building size, installation phase, initial building leakage, and desired airtightness. After determining project specs, a quote is provided. Schedule a meeting:Contact
Lab testing shows AeroBarrier can withstand a simulated 50-year durability test with little to no seal degradation. Durability test results:Here
AeroBarrier seals holes as large as ½ inch and as tiny as a human hair. It’s highly effective for narrow gaps and tiny holes that are often missed in manual sealing.
Minimal preparation is required for vertical surfaces like walls and windows. Designed openings like ducts, electrical, and plumbing are covered before sealing. Finished horizontal surfaces are covered.
Sealing requires temperature control and pressurizing the areas. Ideal conditions are an outdoor temperature of ≥ 40˚F, but sealing below 40˚F may need additional preparation steps.
